Rather than custom workarounds, or asking customers to buy a regular subscription, Govalo’s gift subscriptions make it easy for customers to buy, gift, and redeem their subscription.
Here’s how it works:
Once your gift subscription is set up, customers will be given the option to purchase the subscription as a gift.
When the customer opts to send a subscription as a gift, they’re prompted to select their preferred variety if there is more than one option and select how many deliveries they want to gift. They’re then given the option to customize it as they would a gift card. They can send it directly to their recipient, add their name, select a date to send it on, and include a gift note.
The customer pays for the gift, and that’s all they have to do. From here, the recipient will get an email on the date selected by the customer that will let them know they’ve received a gift subscription. They’ll then be able to activate their subscription whenever they want, and create their own account to manage it. This includes adding payment information for if they want to carry the subscription forward.
This process makes it easier for both the customer and their recipient. The customer doesn’t have to create the account themselves, then try to hand it over to the recipient. They also don’t have to buy the subscription, then immediately pause it until they plan to give it as a gift.
